Peak District - Kinder Scout Hike

After seeing a few of the hikes i'd been on lately my buddy Louis suggested our next catch up be out in the great outdoors, and with the Peak District on his doorstep in Derbyshire it seemed like the obvious choice! Que my frantic search for a route and Louis scouring the internet for some hiking boots that weren't fugly - he went for these if any guys are looking for a decent pair at good value.

The route we went for was the Kinder Scout Hike ; A 9 mile circular hill walk retracing the steps of the famous Kinder Scout mass trespass. The route heads up William Clough then follows the Pennine Way along the plateau edge, passing the Kinder Downfall and Kinder Low before returning by an old pack horse route.
It was a busy route with families, groups, dog walkers, couples, lone hikers and even some serious old boys who kept leaving me in the dust (me, not Louis. Louis is a machine). We got really lucky with the weather and the views once you were on the plateau were insane as you'll see when you scroll through.
We took this route description as a guide but the walk was clearly marked, plenty of people around and pretty obvious. I'd always recommend taking a route description because we stumbled once or twice and it helped but this is definitely do-able by all levels and abilities and there is no need for crazy map reading skills.

Let me know if you're thinking of doing this hike and have any questions and if you have any reccomendations for routes i'd love to hear them.

Until next time - Take Heart and Be Courageous.
